Thrown Planters for a flower fanatic…

Requests can be fun, as long as they are inline with what I have made sometime in the past and work with the clay and glazes I have on hand.

A local farmer florist contacted me for some planters requesting a shape she loved, and that they have an attached tray to catch water like another pot of mine she had received as a gift.

Its a great shape, so I’ve made extra. The size difference is done by weighing out the clay. I throw fairly consistently, so to make 2 sizes I used 2 and 4 lbs of clay.

The slideshow above shows them just finished and put on shelves I keep by my wheel. Also shown is the 3 holes I cut in to them for draining water.

Finished pictures when they are out of the kiln.
